You can't schedule how your body is going to feel tomorrow. I guess they have it all figured out though.
So how is the 30min breaking working out?

Nope never, they're perfect. It's nice to have a government on our side.

There will probably be times where's it's not a big deal other than it makes my day a 1/2hr longer for no good reason, just costs me home time is all, of course that doesn't sit well. -
I agree with business as usual. I start at 6pm and around 11-1 I will just log off duty for the 30 mins while I load or unload. Company knows we are all doing it and could care less apparently. They didn't wanna have to pay us to sit for 30 mins.

If so then that's perfectly fine as long as you're not on the dock (or whatever) and off duty not working.
I'm climbing ladders or steps to a catwalk and working in a danger zone when loading and I operate the tipper that unloads the truck so it pretty much has to be logged on duty.
I'm not hourly paid either, loading is a flat fee and so is unloading, paid mileage between faculties.

There is way too much confusion about the 30 minute break. It really needs to be clarified by the federal government. Better yet, the 30 minute mandated break needs to be done away with altogether.
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!Y2K Thanks this. -
I still think it's funny in a way. The same drivers who are complaining now about being forced to take a whole 30 minutes off are the same ones who would be complaining if we got told we couldn't take that break. They would then come up with every reason under the sun why they just had to have it.
And yes even the local people already take those breaks. Count up every one of those 5 and ten minute stops you make to grab a drink or a snack etc. I bet you come up with more than 30 minutes when it's all said and done. Either way, until they change it, if they change it, it's what we have to do now, get used to it. You don't like it, contact your congressmen and try to get it changed.

Thanks Airborne! Not much we can do about it but, deal with it! Until, we are able to unite as a trucking union and fight for our rights, we will continue to be stepped on.
