    ...Humbling myself here.

Got a load this week. No biggy, I know the area well. But never heard of this customer. Pull the address up on the GPS and laptop. Know exactly where I'm going. And know it's not going to be a picnic. But have no contact info to call anyone, directions are spot on according to my GPS.....

Hour and half later, I'm parked outside the owners dads house. Not good. :biggrin_25523:

Cuz this is supposed to be a plant. And THIS is a skinny ### county road that worked my ### off getting around ONE corner.

The old man comes out, with a big ### grin on his face like he's glad to see me. Then says....you're the second one this morning. But don't worry, you can turn around in my drive. Just let me pull my mailbox out of the ground before you start.

Backing up, I notice the trialer is really dropping fast. So I'm watching it...then doing the "professional" thing I look in the blind side mirror, and all I can see is DITCH. Which had been hidden by the tall grass, when I started.

Hit the brakes....fast. And that's where it all ended. In the middle of the road.

Rear right drive hanging just off the asphalt, spinning, trailer landing gear sitting flat on the ground on the left side due to the lean in the trailer.

Long story short...I have this entire road shut down. No one that lives in front of me can leave, it dead ends at a fallen bridge. Thankfully, this nice old man who allowed me to turn around in his driveway...also owned a tractor, and had a path cut through the woods to the other side....where he gave me a tug to get me back in the road.

$400 plus in tow truck savings. Job saved...priceless. #### Mastercard.

BTW...this plant was located 20 miles away in another town. "Dad" gave me the correct directions after he got me going, and explained they used his address, for billing purposes.

My second attempt at turning around....went much smoother :biggrin_2559:

A piece of humble pie tends to bring us back to earth doesn't it. :biggrin_25525: Been there before too. At least you made it out with no damage or major incident.
