You've got it backwards. Filling the truck with off road diesel, or "reefer fuel" as you call it, is how to cheat on taxes. Less taxes on off road diesel.

 

You can save the tax now or save it later is how I see it. .

 

When your fueling the reefer or if you have a AUX tank for your apu .. and you are filling with fuel that has TAX you are eligible for a the tax credit you paid for.

Reefer fuel/offroad is supposed to be dyed red and has NO road tax.... But not many truckstops sell off road, untaxed red fuel anymore.

Make sure you claim ALL taxed gallons purchased.
PA is almost 75¢ a gallon tax ! ... That adds up fast!!
