Not saying people haven’t had worse weeks, or more BS, figured this would be good for the “I have $8500 saved how do I buy a truck and set up a load board account” posts

No - that's a pretty bad week. Sorry to hear that. Luckily the dumb kid didn't wind up in the morgue.

Some days I feel I could save a ton of money just staying in bed.

I don't envy you guys at all. That is not a dig to any of you but it is so much easier to be a company shmuck. Hope all works out. So glad I didn't buy that truck in 2009.

While I tend to agree, company shmuck is a bit harsh, we can't forget why someone would have their own truck in the 1st place. I was always a local/regional company driver, and finally, in 1988, bought my own, a 1982 Western Star with new motor for $22,000 and pulled rail cans out of Chicago, for a mere fraction of what it would cost today. It was the zenith of my career, and even my old man, who hated trucks, was proud of me,,,I think. Anyway, I found, you can make a lot more money with a lot less hassles as a company driver, but it's not always about money, I drove my 1st Peterbilt as my own, ( in Avatar) as previously, it was some crappy , poorly spec'd company tractor that stunk and was underpowered. Typically, I lost my axx, my wife and family, my house and most of what I held dear because of the truck,, but I can still say, I was glad I did it, and she was a bitxx anyway, no matter what I did.
