Exactly. Drunk driver kills someone. Stoner just annoys people. I'd rather my family be annoyed than dead.

I don't think you get alcohol withdrawal without chronic use...
I'm not a big drinker or a drug user....But I don't see how they are much different. Is The guy that drinks a 12 pack every night and better off in the morning than a guy that smokes a J at night.
I've seen those chronic drinkers in the morning, they don't look too fresh either

Probably best for this, we got enough problems already. The towns that got dispensaries everywhere all seem to have one thing in common, all are bunghole communities with derelicts slithering around the streets. I used to be on board with the legalization but after what I've seen driving through some of these places I am not so sure anymore. I guess it's ok.but needs to be limited. Save that stuff for retirement. I got a family member that's a retired truck driver with back problems that's enjoying it immensely. Probably too much, he a complete stoner these days. We certainly don't need stoner truck drivers.

Fatal crashes caused by drivers high on pot have gone up a lot since legalization. And the OP was about how FMCSA is going to keep testing for marijuana use even though more states have legalized it. It didn't say anything about stopping alcohol testing, even though alcohol has been legal since Prohibition ended.

"But dude, it's like totally unfair because THC like attaches to fat cells so you can totally test positive like a month or two after you quit smoking, dude! Alcohol leaves your body in like 24 hours and stuff! C'mon man, can't you see how unfair that is!? Don't you like care about being fair, man? I mean, like, stoners never get into accidents dude!"

It's the other way around, poor towns with troubled people get dispenseries to generate any kind of revenue and on the other side well off towns always vote to not let any dispensaries in

Saw Sean Penn this week doing an interview. He looks like he's 90 years old now with his neck skin dangling down to his chest.

I agree, but no one is campaigning to have the FMCSA relax the rules on alcohol use. There is a movement to have them stop testing for marijuana. That's the issue. Alcohol is always the red herring dragged out by the potheads to argue that they should be able to get high every day after they're done driving. I don't care if people smoke weed, I just don't want any of them driving a CMV.

Exactly. They literally have to drink to even function or they could die from DTs.

But they are! Drunks are no longer required to pass a breath test for pre-employment and they only compromise 10 percent of the driver pool versus 50 percent of the pool for drugs on randoms.

Alcohol is getting looser and looser and the general public treats it like having a burger while the ignorant stereotype people like you push about cannabis users gets foolishly thrown around casually.

Whether you like it or not most of the country has legalized it and the trend will continue. It doesn't matter what the feds say. Employers have plenty of work arounds for testing and so do the states.

Drug testing in itself is a discriminating practice. What anyone does on their personal time is their business. Until they start using actual impairment testing the entire process is utter nonsense.
