Every single OEM already includes a speed governor in their computer software, so this whole process is moot. They need to quit wasting our tax dollars and their time on this and focus on changes that will actually make things safer, like updating and expanding roadway and parking capacity.

The megas will get what they want. Just like ELDs. The real question is; what will they do about mechanicals? Make them expensive yard ornaments like California did?

There were speed limiters on mechanical motors back in the early 80's

Probably double or triple the fine for those who still have mechanical engines.

Yeah, they were called Detroits.:laughing-guffaw::cwm10:,, never really a concern, as most trucks I drove never got near the speed limit anyway. Speed limiters are dangerous, and initiated by someone who never drove a truck.

They’re over stepping their reach and should have more important things that their job actually consists of, but I’m not getting into it.

I’m waiting until trucks are back to the old nationwide 55 like it used to be, cars 80+.

It’s all about safety, didn’t you hear?
Also the ew vehicles have a way they fan “hack” into it and shut your engine down if they want too.
