I use two 14 inch 2x4's and two 8 inch 2x4's. Lay the 14's lengthwise with the tire about an inch or two apart and the 8's on top flush with the back edge. Jump in the truck and back up or pull forward onto the 14 (1.5 inch step up) and keep going gently til you ride up on top of the 8's (3 inch step up).
The 2x4's are free, usually find them scattered all around the truck stops as drivers toss them out the back of their trailers along with all the garbage they sweep out right onto the ground. A cheapo 16 inch 8 tooth hand saw will last a long time.
To save time lol, ride up on the blocks, install chains and drive off, don't bother picking up the wood. The next driver might appreciate it![]()

On another note, I guess if i practiced going down mountain passes without a jake in the summer, every one would be passing me flipping me off wondering why I am going so slow. I'll just take the advice of everyone on here. During winter conditions, slower down, don't make any sudden movements, and use common sence. -
otherhalftw and Big Don Thank this.
