The things you see at truck stops… That make you wonder how some people have lived as long as they have- This guy kept staring at us this evening. He was kind of a creepy kind of person. He must think he’s a trucker. We’re at Pilot in Good Hope, Alabama and in rolls this guy looking to park his “rig” where he’s in the way of everyone and the Cat Scales. He decided to park at the exit in the way of trucks leaving and got a little chat from more than one trucker. He just needs a big red nose, big shoes and a big fuzzy wig. He’s from New York so that pretty much explains him. Is this secure? Is it even legal? I’d have tied it down from the frame, personally.
Albertaflatbed, Lonesome, navypoppop and 1 other person Thank this. -

That is secure, and legal. You can tie down from the axle however several issues arise.
It's hard to get to the frame or axle on most light vehicles, and there is usually wiring and brake lines run there tgst will be a problem, as in your strap will crush or damage them when tightened.
I personally do a loop over each tire, but I have seen tow trucks secure thus way.
Too bad he couldn't figure out how to park without being in the way of everyone., there's always someone entertaining at a truck stop lol
