I teamed for a few months at Schneider back in 2009. Was promised the same mileage band. We never got the miles. Went back to my dedicated account. Liked the company a lot, just didn’t work out on the team side.

I never worked for SNI but lots of companies pay teams by all the miles the truck runs. I don’t know show SNi runs their team trucks. I did team driving as a trainer many years ago for a different company. They dispatched us at 1200 a day we had to go 1200 miles every 24 hours. They had team trips and solo driver trips. They had special customers for team runs. We did many Conway, now XPO terminal to terminal run. One I remember was Cincinnati Ohio to Portland Oregon. It was about 2,400 miles and we had 48 or 50 hours to do the run.

You make the money but driving 1,200 miles every 24 hours is a job. We had about 2 hours every day the truck could be stopped for fuel and showers and eating.

As a beginning driver -- BE SURE to avoid ANY/ALL jobs that have you delivering to ANY of the so-called "dollar" stores: Dollar General, Family Dollar, etc.

When offered a solo position by a recruiter -- be sure to ask about -- & verify this.

Those dollar-store accounts are a TERRIBLE CHOICE for rookie drivers.

Much better account option examples: Home Depot, Lowe's, Cabela's, Bass Pro Shops, Walmart, Target.

bring a flashlight, even if it’s a small one on belt.
Schneider requires when you hook up trailer to turn off truck, duck under trailer and look for fifth wheel locked over kingpin.

Big on safety, get out and look as many times as you need, no high hooks, auto fire.
They show you their way, and if you follow their way, you won’t have problems.

This is extremely insightful and very based of you. I will be keeping this reply on hand to reference as I continue through the beginning transition and update weekly. I cannot thank everyone enough for the replies. I felt like I was going into this blind and it's one of those things you can't search because you don't even know what you don't know. Experience truly is king and so again I thank you for sharing it with me. Hugely helpful!
