Yeah. This is a frustration shared by many drivers. Not the wait for a trainer per se, but the spotty communication. As drivers a big part of our job is being on time and promptly communicating any problem or issues. But the same courtesy is quite often not returned. Not by shippers/receivers, not by service centers and sadly, not even by our employers sometimes.
"Should be any day..." might be the truth. But it's just as likely that this is a generic, blow off answer that means 'we have no idea when'. Just like "your load will be ready soon". Could mean anything.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. In the meantime about all you can do is check in daily.

So, say you have to wait a month for a trainer.... Are you still getting paid for that time? That could be a huge financial issue if not.
-
Yup, as long as you are not delayed or waiting on things because its your fault (like court, child support, tickets, you "aren't ready") than you get paid.Puppage and Hank the Cow Dog Thank this.
-
Yikes! Month and a half? That seems nothing short of excessive. Sure hope you hit the road soon.
-
Yeah you and me both. I know that some guys are getting out there soon and it seems that the mass majority of the southeast trainers are refrigerated. So being a student for dry van and a non smoker is kicking me in the rear right now. I know that the holiday has to play in this as well. I know the drivers that are coming close to finishing a student probably don't want to pick a new one up that needs 3 weeks right before the holiday.
It is just the #### waiting game... sucks. -
Just got an email, I should hopefully have something tomorrow with who my trainer is and when he will get here.
-
Sweet! We'll see you on the road!
-
Hell yeah, just got another quick response email. Trainer is assigned and will be contacting me today to set things up. See you guys out on the road.
-

Nice, my trainer is meeting me at the Atlanta terminal tomorrow afternoon. Catching the gray dog tomorrow morning. Will be at the terminal by about 11 AM, meet up with the trainer a bit after noon, and will be on my first run by the evening.
