I drove for a small 6 truck outfit from Chicago in the 90s, when you got to his house he had you set down and work out your load leaving. We were paid percentage so had to try and get the brooker up on their rate, it was eye opening and not a easy job. I woundn't want to do it all the time.

Now I wasn't going to say anything on the first post But folks there are different experances for different drivers. We are having drivers requstded all the time here. Sometimes when you and the company involded knows each other and know their operation and can be trusted to be on time it makes a world of differance. This is not the first company that I have seen/had this happen with. Just because it has not happen to you does not mean it don't happen.

Good jobs are hard to find out here, you have to wait on someone to retire and a spot open up, other wise your just driving for another same ol company. Best advice for me is ride out what you got if possable untill you find the better job. Bouncing from co. to co. is the worst thing you can do for your work record. As for this drivers wife I would rather her be on here venting the going posal else where. But I guess she is the only person to ever need to vent her fustrations.

The guide line are set up by the DOT called out of service, but I agree the drive has to make the call it's HIS butt on the line. A blown wheel seal is searouis but I have drove them like that for repair, you do need to stop a lot and make sure it's not getting hot. BUT IT'S THE DRIVERS CALL.

Company needs allot of help, and I am being kind. Most leave quickly because they can not pay their bills with the low pay and the even lower miles.

Fleet managers overworked, Mechanic turnover high, drivers abandoning trucks over the holidays, average weekly miles under 1800 @ .285 , do the math. The company overall is not running on all cylinders. Good people, just worn out.

that doesn't sound good, .285/m doesn't sound so hot either. I can appreciate being worn out, company certainly does have lofty goals of trying to grow during an economic down turn. However from reading some of the other threads it sounds like you may have had a less than average experience.

Either way, thanks for sharing hope things start looking up for you.

Guys like you crack me up. ######## about rookies this and rookies that. It's all the fault of rookies. LOL.. I guess you were just born with 20 years of trucking experience, LOL. Maybe ya popped right out of mama's womb that way huh. Guess you too weren't a rookie at one time. Too funny. I love listening to all the supertruckers ##### and complain about rookies. How soon they forget they were once rookies too. PEACE OUT!!!
