I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make it sound like I was mad at Debbie. She's helped me out several times. And I accepted the load knowing it was late to help her out. The sarcastic thanks was because I doubt either of us were expecting Millard to pull that crap when she told me she had a load that'd get me rolling right away...
I do apologize.
And I usually do have food on board, but I was out.

And my streak continues... this will he my second repower this week... First due to HOS issue, now due to OTD issue because of the overweight rework. About an hour short in both cases. At least this time the per plan is for a load that should be ready. Pick up time for today, won't get it until tomorrow, so hopefully no wait. I am losing a two drop ending in Hunts Point, picking up a load heading to Johnstown NY... not sure of what other stops may be on it.
Just realized last year during training we delivered in Cheshire on 7/3 and went somewhere in NY to pick up Chobani yougurt on 7/4... could I end up at the se place exactly one year later? -
KMac Thanks this.

Well I pushed it today, but I still do not have an HOS violation. Got parked with 1 minute left. My previous closest was 3 minutes which I did twice.
It is just so tempting when the sign says next rest area 20 miles, and I still have 22 minutes of drive time.Last edited: Jun 30, 2013

I'm old...I love paper logs.
I just can't adjust....at 10:59 I'm a hero, the dog smiles, the birds chirp and the sun shines.
At 11:01 I am akin to an axe murderer, the sky darkens and life is bad.
I just can't get over that two minutes.Jarhed1964 Thanks this. -

*sigh* I should really stop doing favors. lol
Got rolling with that Millard load to Cheyenne, got as far as Des Moines. Got a call about a produce load on a broken down truck that was urgent, and it went to Walmart in Sterling, IL the next morning. Decided to help out and do the repower (the $100 kicker helped), and got it there 3 hrs early. Walmart took over 8 hrs to unload.
Now, I figured the other load was also a Walmart load, and was late, so we'd want to get it delivered ASAP. Its Sunday, KW is closed, so dude I repowered with isn't running, and the load is just sitting there, I figured they'd send me back to it.
Nope! I get a 2 drop Tyson to NYC... My most favorite place to avoid. I asked if there was anything else, telling them I'd rather go to Hell than NYC... "You are the only truck in the area (I'm looking at 3 other Stevens trucks in the same parking lot, all having just emptied), and this load really needs handled."
And then they tell me "Just have your DM set up a swap with one of the NY locals."
Right... This load only pays 850 miles. If I'm gonna run it, you'd better believe I'm milking every blue cent from it. I'm not leaving the stop-off and NYC pay on the table!
But I really do need to have my DM put "do not dispatch to NYC" on my home screen. I hate NYC. It gives me the heebee geebees. I've been mugged before (not in New York, but NYC has a reputation, and anyone who's been through that will attest that you will keep and eye over your shoulder for the rest of your life). I don't like ambulances and ERs. -
