Well, I took the first step to rejoin the Buzzards and was told that I am not worthy.:biggrin_25513: It's not because of anything that makes sense, because I have no accidents, citations, convictions and so forth. But it's because I have been unemployed since November 2012. And while I explained that it was due to a family member being deathly ill and needing constant assistance and care, it seems that the hiring board isn't nearly as family oriented as Stevens would have us all believe. :biggrin_25512:

I guess they are a family oriented business ... but not really. At least not when it comes to rehires. There was a time when someone would be cheered for making that sort of sacrifice for the sake of family ... I guess not anymore. :biggrin_25523:Makes me very sad. Oh, well. I guess I'll find another way. I'll be lurking.

Good luck to you...things happen ( or don't happen) for a reason. Trucking will always be around.
Good for you for taking care of family first!

Rattlebunny, did you appeal directly to Adrian?
There is a provision in the Patriot act that requires a transportation company to account for all your time. If you're unemployed, the thought under the act is you may have been training as a terrorist.
If you get documentation showing you were the primary care giver to a non ambulatory relative or friend, that can count as unpaid employment and the problem disappears.
You need to do a little digging because this isn't a Stevens decision, it's related to the DOT and Patriot Act.
    Good luck.

    flue and KMac Thank this.
