287 is piece of cake. Good stretch of road. My only suggestion is pay attention to speed limit changes. There are several small towns on 287 in SE Colorado, the speed limit drops to about 35, and the Troopers will be waiting. Take it easy, run safe and legal, and you'll be fine.

Am I the only Buzzard here that's never seen the Limon scales open?! And I have seen the Lamar one open... hrmmm......... o_O

Well it was all for naught. Headed down to 635 and truck felt sluggish, on the on ramp tried to accelerate and all I got was a rise in rpm, slippng and grinding. Clutch issues which we made note of after talking with the previous driver. Thought they would have looked into it. But nope, stuck back at yard till they can fix the issues. Plus they found the leak in the axle seal that they fixed already.

I had all kinds of problems trying to get off the yard for D&D... we waited and waited, finally the truck was ready. Dispatcher... here guys, do me a favor, take this load to the TA and do an repower there and bring that load back and I have on to California for you guys. Sounded good. We took the load, did the repower, brought the other back, through the safety lane and boom... truck deadljned again, no California load LOL. Finally two days later the truck was ready again. We get dispatched. Very short 400 miles run completely in Texas. We are doing a PTI and notice a coolant puddle under the truck. Go talk to the shop, they won't even be bothered to take a look at it... it's the overflow, we just over filled it, it is fine.

We head out the gate and make it about 50 miles down I 20 when the low coolant light comes on. My first experience with road rescue...

Have you tried the reset on the APU?

If you have an appt, for delivery, go to it. They should be open.

Parking anywhere in Denver is hit or miss. Usually hard to find a spot at TA and Sapp Bros across the highway, Pilot and Flying J same way. I usually go the the Tomahawk truck stop about 10 miles east of Aurora.

king soopers is open every day... get there before your appointment, check in, and stage up, to get a door. They are slow to unload.... Parking in Denver after 3pm is a no go... as Kmac says, head out to the tomahawk on I70 about 10 miles east of town.

You and Drake should known each other then...

Good luck, my experience with D&D was a lot of sitting. Three days on a one day load etc. We had one with three stops, 1 in Phoenix, 2 in LA, picked up in Minnesota... 6 days on that one load. Gives you time to figure things out though.
