Got my "home run" load... not too shabby.
LA to Ontario to Oceano to Dallas.
Picture if you will, a California produce load with only one pick and one drop, and that drop is a drop & hook... You've just been dispatched to The Twilight Zone...
After drop in Dallas, I'll probably do a quick local for Will, then its home on the 5th for 5 days and my baby girl's 1st birthday...
Just a side note... This Denver native just got to see the Pacific for the 1st time. US 101 is quite the cruise!Corporal_Clegg and TRKRSHONEY Thank this. -
Drop and Hook Produce? I have never heard of such a thing.

So I left Dallas in a bright shiney brand new truck... first run a short hop from Irving to Amarillo... next up of course... a trip to the dirt fields of Liberal. Can't have that new truck shine for more than a day now LOL.
TRKRSHONEY and Corporal_Clegg Thank this. -
Used to do drop and hook produce loads out of Riverside CA for walmart stores... Would get handed a book of invoices, 7,8, a dozen picks, all on your trailers... no chance to inspect or count, just put your load locks in and go.

Ding, ding, ding...chiming in.
This is going to be a close one. Heading to Logan for a flight back to Dallas in time for work tomorrow.
Been quite a ride. Max'll have to do the final on his own in the AM.
Hoping the storms over OK, MO won't delay the flight. Otherwise, you guys will have to do without me tomorrow.TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -
I wish I could see the logic behind some of the things the office does. Three times yesterday I let them know I was on time, on schedule and had a plan that I was working. So I'm 105 miles from final and go to bed at 8 pm. Dispatch decides I need to get up in the middle of my sleep to let them know again all they have already been told. I tried to ignore the Qc only to be called 45 minutes before my alarm is set to go off so they can ask mexagain. If they would stop and think, maybe check and see the driver has never been late and do some math they could have let me sleep. So now I got to drive fatigued. I told them I should go back to bed and let the load be late. They came back saying I'd have a service failure, but I corrected them that since they caused me to be fatigued I could simply call safety and it would go right back on them. I know its some short sighted policy gone wrong, but if people would stop and think. Hey, this guy is probably trying to sleep, lets wait to see if he gets moving before we call him.
nascarchuck and discodubber Thank this. -
I think that unlike Emul very few of the planning-dispatch crews have actually spent a day in our shoes. So you see this type of thoughtless behavior, most don't care about the driver only the load.
TLeaHeart, TRKRSHONEY and nascarchuck Thank this.
