Stevens Transport

Nice Thread, I just got a call from Stevens if everything works out I'm invited to come to Dallas. I will keep checking back here to see how it goes. Thanks Again guys. TD.

 

TD funny running into you all over. I got the pre-hire from Stevens as well not just to decide school and company. This is harder then I thought it was going to be. I think I have narrowed it to Stevens and 1 other. I have a total of 6 prehires.

anyone have an idea on how long training is coming out of a driving school already? their website says aprox 8 weeks. but recruiter at the school said like 16 or something ?

anyone been through a school THEN went to stevens?

 

It's 9 weeks broken up into two segements. 5 weeks with first trainer, then back to Dallas for 4 days or so for orientation and testing. The 4 more weeks with a finish trainer.

 

I went to a school of my choice, then to Stevens..

Arrive in Dallas on saturday, orientation starts on sunday. Sunday, monday and tuesday are long days, you are hired on wednesday.

Thursday they began assigning trainers, may take a couple of days to get a trainer. Then it is 8500 miles, 35 days, 2 major mountains, the northwest, west, central, southeast, and northeast regions. All this must be completed before returning to the yard for orientation 2.

O2 is 4 days long, road test, trip planning, then out with a finish trainer for 4 weeks now. Used to be 3. When I went through it was out for 3 weeks with another student, we called it dumb and dumber. Stevens hates that term.

so in the best case scenario, with NO home time for you, 11 weeks.

you have the option of a week home time between right?

Ha, Just checked the mail..... Guess what I got in the mail? An invitation from "Stevens" Call so in so... To get started... I'm so needed... LOL I'm not going there I think I have decided. Thanks. TD
