No one told me how to hook up the impact wrench air hose to the tractor to use it to take down a-frames on a trailer, just get a hose & glad hand on the end of the hose, hook it up, & poof! you can loosen the bolts quickly & take up the a-frames quickly! Well....my first attempt to hook up the air hose, I figured--hook the glad hand on the impact wrench hose to the trailer--hop back in truck, give it air, and...whaaallllaaa....WTF! Loud Hissing Sound! Took me a few minutes to figure out---hook impact wrench hose to RED GLAD HAND off tractor--not trailer! Simple as it sounds, my lack of common sense certainly made for my stupid moment...I still enjoy sharing the story & grinning stupidly!! Better to laugh at one's mistake's & share the humor of it. No one was around to enjoy my stupidity! I believe I kicked the drive tire in frustration!

one of my first loads as a rookie...i loaded a trailer full of can oats to go from Winnipeg Manitoba canada to Boston Mass. WEll, when i got to customs they broke the seal to check load...i forgot to re-seal it. When i pulled into the boston docks they asked me where my seal was. Long story short...the load was rejected and i did a FREE trip from manitoba to boston and back. WOW was i ticked off

Considering that the IDIOT in question could not evenlearn to shift a STUPID 10 speed that give you a clue. Then he thought -20 was a good temp for Strawberries in CA when they were fresh out of the field. I had him IIRC 1 week when he did this little stunt and then threw him out at SLC. I can tell you this my Century class BEFORE I LEFT Salt Lake had New Brakes all the way around. Trailer also got new shoes since I almost burned them to a crisp slowing down.

Last thing I heard on the Tire case from my old Safety man was that they caught the kids hammered them with Attempted Murder since the States atty arugued that if it had been a small car or a Motorcycle someone more than likely would have been killed. The kids being under 18 all of them did time in NY's Juvi system as part of their plea bargins since the State requested pic of the damage to my truck as part of the case while the repairs were made.

Driver waiting for load at Sears distribution.
Driver Gets called on the c.b. his load is ready come to guard shack for paperwork.
Driver bobtails to guard shack for paperwork and climbs out of his cabover to go in for paperwork. Just as he starts walking to guard shack drivers door of his tractor hits him in the back of the head as his truck rolls straight for guard shack. He scrambles to climb back in to set the brakes as the guards run for there lives. The driver got his brakes set and the truck axles hop and skid to a stop 3 feet from guard shack. I was in my truck waiting and seen the whole thing and Laughed so hard I cried.

i was backed in a space at l'oreal in piscataway getting unloaded when a jockey shows up to get the trailer two doors down from me.

thank god there was nothing in the door next to me.

anyway, he didn't have a yard horse but a day cab. he sets up in front of the trailer, but it's dropped too low (sunk down in the parking lot a bit) so trying to get under it he hits the bottom front of the trailer with the end forks of the 5th wheel. pulls up and does it again. that got my attention.

wth, HOW many times are you going to hit it before you realize you ain't picking that thing up?

then you could see the light bulb go on over his head, he gets over to the far side and aims at it at an angle. it goes under a bit, but bounces right out. 2nd try he hits it harder and stops half way under. it goes up, but.............it's rocking side to side.

omg, now that really got my attention!

does he wait for it to stop? noooo, he pushes again and over it goes.....towards me! i'm screaming and trying to get to the passenger side as fast as i can 'cause it looks like it's going to hit me! the trailer lands on it's side next to me in a big cloud of dirt. he gets out, stares at it, comes over to me and says "did you see that? the landing gear just collapsed" i was in shock and couldn't say a thing. turned out there was 40k lbs of glass bottles double stacked in the first 8 spots and that's why it had sunk in the parking lot. it took them 3 days to clean it up. i don't know if they fired him, but the next time i went in there he was gone.

    lmao!!!

some people are just to lazy to get out and crank the landing gear.....but he might not of even been able to crank that, all it takes is a couple of forklifts or those trailer jacks

####....well the way i see it they needed a lil more time then just some juvi-crap....they're out of the system already...record's probably sealed and they're just laughing it up....they need more time to think about the damage they caused and could have caused....it couldve been a lot worse...

I did a check since I was part of the case. The record was not sealed they have to list it for all times. See NY has a thing ANY Felony you have to list it when you are convicted of it. Since they pled Guilty to it and did time it will be an open record and follow them for the rest of their lives. That was what my company and I wanted that the RECORD never be allowed to be sealed. Either that or they get charged and convicted as ADULTS and the DA was with us on the whole case.
