Why does Swift not have a committe with Drivers, Managers, Dispatch, Saftey, and the like to sit down and work on how to make it work for everyone? If you have maint issues they get get them fixed asap because it costs the company and the drivers money not to mention lost time for the Driver and Dispatch wich = loss for everyone. It sounds like everyone wants it there way and no one wants to work together to make it work for all.

If Company's care about their Employees and took care of them then the Employees would go the extra miles to take care of the Company. The Company's get so big and loose sight that the front line Employees are what make about 95% of the Company. The Administration make the other 5%. Everyone should have the common goal to make it the best Company to work for. There should not be the us against them game it should be everyone working together. This is just my 2 Cents worth.

Sure...give it to Time, not Injun. I see how it is. It's 'cause you guys know I'd approve of stuff the drivers have to do, too...like clean their trash out of the trailers.

    I see.......

Outstanding post. From Swift management, shop personnel, to shippers/receivers, general public, drivers could stand to have the respect quotient ratcheted up a couple of notches, afterall the drivers are what makes the money for everyone else to support us as well as themselves in their positions.

There is an advisory committee of 10 drivers. I think they meet quarterly. Not positive on that. The ones I've met have been pretty decent guys. (Haven't met a woman on the committee yet.) And they get a cool sticker on their trucks, saying something like "2011 Advisory Committee Member" or some such. I don't know how they get picked.

Well, one was kind of a jerk. Poured his pee on the parking lot at the truck stop and looked a bit ragged.

Swift did have the Drivers/Management committee...back in 1997...it ended in 1998!

Another "#####emout" round table is what resulted, nothing positive so they naturally discontinued it and went back to the "suggestion box" style of management and employee grievance !

My advice...from the outside looking in...stay with these threads "BigShreck" is posting...they seem to be a good thing! whether the information/questions are making their way up the food chain within Swift...who can say?

Believe it or not, that same night when I parked, opened mynetbook, went to the portal, and there was the e-mail. Went to the University, and did find it, and there was a 3 question test

A person with common sense could have taken the test without wasting the time wtching the 3 minute video. One of the questions was a T or F, that it is okay to coast out of gear.

Boy, could I really sound off right now, but what good would it do. Injun, I was not going to give you the answers. That would be cheating, and I do not cheat, well, not much.
