If freight is bad there you know those drivers probably ain't getting but 1000 miles a week.

Despite all of their platitudes about how important the drivers are, megacarriers hate them and can't wait to get rid of them.

I've seen a team back into a truck because the team driver was too lazy to get out of the passenger seat to spot the driver.

What happens when the 11 hour clock runs out between the 14 Macro 39 back ups?

I think a bigger concern over the backing, is their mention of money issues. It is generally a bad thing to tell your team you’re in a 911 situation on funds. Especially if word gets out to stockholders and they sell. Given they are willing to risk, I assume things are not going well at the board meetings at knight. Contract rate renewals not looking as good as before!?!

Well said -- some good points there.

However, speaking strictly from a driver's perspective -- parking/backing in a typical truckstop at the tail end of one's shift IS NOT the time to be sending a macro (& also waiting for any reply ).

That also -- is a BIG RED FLAG. :(

No, it's just they'll only be able to pay a $ 0.13 dividend instead of $0.14 and the board of directors will be voted out if Swift drivers don't voluntarily give themselves heat stroke.

It’s also bad when they mention that you can’t take the truck home. Looks like they’re tightening their belts on the mileage the trucks rack up and the fuel being used.
