The trucking schools I was thinking about are endorsed by the North Carolina Truckers Association. One is actually sponsored by them and is at an NC community college.
Swift hiring process timeline.

One lesson learned with this is, "Don't Feed the Monster That Can Eat You In One Bite."Chinatown Thanks this.

I have no idea who those people are. Anyone could create a company name, and endorse trucking schools.
The community college connection is promising, but no guarantee. Do not trust a school simply because it is endorsed by a company with a name that sounds legit.dtj12231989 Thanks this. -
not trying to be an ###
just becareful of what you say and do. it is the best to just not mention anything bad about yourself to anyone unless it is official and neccessary. this world is full of judgement, not too many people want to be friendly or anything good for you. good luck with evetything

Howdy. I have an update. I have a job with Western Express upon completion of trucking school and acquiring my CDL. I have talked with the NCWorks center here in town and was informed that I may be eligible for one their programs to pay for the tuition. Even better, one of the schools on their approved list is literally 35 minutes up the road from my house. With that being said, what has anyone heard about Western Express? Just asking for others opinions. Also, could anyone tell me what an average good starting pay for a flatbed hauler straight outta training would be?
Omega7777 Thanks this. -
BTW, Western Express has already said that they would provide a prehire letter if needed. One question though. What does a prehire letter do?
-
its a letter saying they will hire you if you get your cdldtj12231989 Thanks this.

never work for them before personally. let say the reviews are not good but they do give people a second chance so just get your experience and move on to the next better thing. be ready for issues and focus on the goaldtj12231989 Thanks this.

That's my goal here for now. Get at least two years under my belt and save money to get a new Ram 3500. What happens after that is still up in the air.
