For sure. That is the sap sissy of which you stay vigilant. That is the one who will sacrifice not only their, but your liberty all for a false sense of security. This is the kind of person that would crap their pants at the sound of shattering glass; yet would hide behind their masters in an instant; and advocate they engage in force, theft and violence against you, on their behalf.

Even an outward facing camera can catch a reflection. I have a friend who got fired this way. His wife sent him a text, and, while he wasn't going to respond to it while he was driving, he picked up the phone to quickly read it to see if it was important enough to stop somewhere nearby to respond. The forward facing camera caught the reflection on the windshield, and boom....fired.

My company uses the same camera but they disabled the driver facing camera (you can verify yourself by seeing one green light and one red light), but it also has two cameras pointing towards both sides of the truck, to monitor blind spots around the hood of the truck. I've been searching online and on youtube to try and find out what the field of vision is for those side cameras but can't find anything. Does anyone know exactly what those side cameras can see? Part of the reason I came to this company is because they have no driver facing camera, but if they can still see me from those side cameras what's the point.

I haven't looked in some time but iirc semi truck at fault accidents have been fairly steady for quite some time and the majority of crashes are 4 wheelers at fault.

At some point the additional measures like these cameras don't move the needle because some people need Darwin awards.

Until insurance reform gets passed this is the only lever they can pull to show they are responsible in determining how screwed by damages they will be in a settlement or trial.

This was a situation of being this:
You're darned if you do, you're darned if you don't. HOLY MOSES!!

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

The absolute sheer driving force of our national economy - without truck drivers, our entire national economy would come to an absolute standstill - if not outright be dead.

Over the mountains, through the woods, into the valleys, coast to coast, from sea to shining sea - truck drivers can and do go anywhere and everywhere, every day, every night, all year round.
