Extolling means praising. I do not praise the L/O program.
I was self employed for 16 years. I know the difference between poop and shinola.
The truth of the matter is many newbies are thankful to be working. Many never wanted to be a trucker, it's just the biz that's hiring right now. Then the slicko's tell them about the "big" money of leasing. Pressure them into leasing by various means. Lies, idle%, promise of freedom, etc, etc. They sign people that can't balance a check book. Are hoping to get out of debt, etc.
Even if you have no place to live, and just want to run the roads company is probably better. Save your pennies and do it right.
Not everyone can be a O/O but everyone can get a chance to fail as a L/O! And Swift doesn't have the market cornered on doing the L/O.
They write the deal to profit themselves. If you default? They'll find another starry eyed rookie to take your place.
Fuel is your biggest cost. Many more could succeed if they could get them. Interesting that Swift keeps the discounts, and part of the FSC. One friend that works for Swift claims the discounts, and the ENTIRE FSC by law is required to got to whoever makes the purchase. Just another lawsuit Swift will face someday.
The name change on the company trucks was done due to lawsuits.
I think BlueBonnet has the best idea.scottied67 Thanks this. -

I was agreeing with you Bluebonn. Wanna make really good money at Swift? Company mentor!
I was reverting to my recent viewing of the movie "Open Range." Robert Duvall played a character named "Boss" Spearman. His real name was Blue Bonnet Spearman. Great movie. -
do owner ops get to take their trucks home?
-
Yes you can take the truck anywhere you want. When you lease it try to keep those side trips short because when they catch you they charge you $0.09 cents per mile for moving the truck, what they call Unauthorized Deadhead.

thats no good. what is the company driver idle policy? not sure if anyone knows but im idling right now to keep cool
-
I think the idle policy is 20% or less. Where are you? I'm in Sparks NV, windows all open, truck turned off- about 77degrees. I did buy a 20 inch box fan for $20 bucks at BestBuy the other day, It works perfectly plugged into the little plug in inverter. Puts out a lot more breeze than my 22 inch vertical fan (which started a nails on the chalkboard whine recently) does.
-
no way im in sparks too. the truck running lol. middle or so of the row.

if your up my bunk light is on feel free to knock when ur out and about. is that ur silver kw?
