Hope you'll continue to update with our experience at Swift out of Denver. My husband is getting his CDL and is leaning toward Swift because he wants the most training he can get before getting his own truck. I've read the forums here about Swift, but recent experience out of Denver, especially by a newbie, would be most appreciated.

well, an update from me, ive been running non stop lately, although being on the east coast, they are all ###### ###### runs, but my wife has decided to join me trucking, planning on her getting her cdl, so we will team, get some more dough, get our house quicker. I really like my dm, but i think its my personality, I vent by ranting about stuff, but usually turn it funny to get a laugh out of people, so depends on how your husbands temperament is, couple of times, yesterday to be exact, I almost went off at a shipper cause he was dicking around for 5 minutes 2 feet away from me, like is this the little power trip, making the driver wait for his info?

Most of the shippers/receivers are jealous of truck drivers because we have such an easy job and get to travel the country, plus we make more money than they do. It's got to be a huge pride suck and grind to go to the same warehouse day in and day out, wrapping and stacking freight, can't even set your PTA out and take a random day off if you wanted to lol.

Some places I understand, but when their are three of them sitting in their ignoring us, just feel like snapping at them, ala "oi craig david, stop beating off to that male on male porn and give me a hand, quicker im out, quicker you can go back to doing nothing" but have to remember that Im a representative of the company, and do the right thing

I am a wannabe and am narrowing things down. If it is SWIFT I would probably be out of Lathrop for now. I may be moving to LV area in the next year and would like to know how things like this work.
I heard there is a Swift yard in Las Vegas. I understand it is an ESTES yard, but SWIFT has trailers there. How does that scenario work if you are a SWIFT driver? Do you have all privledges at this yard or are these shared yards a place to drop/hook trailers or park truck overnight only? Chances of parking my personal vehicle there are what.......slim to slimmer and most likely none!?

    Thanks.

Not meaning to be rude, this thread is about Denver. You may have better luck getting an answer to your questions about Las Vegas by starting a new thread titled maybe. Swift Las Vegas questions. That way someone who lives in or around Vegas might see the question due to the title and give you the low down.
