Wow. I just read that entire thread. I will be in the Swift AZ Terminal on the 16th. Now I'm praying that I get a reasonable mentor.

Good luck to you. I start orientation on the 20th of febuary at the lathrop, CA terminal.
I hope to god I get a decent mentor. I have a lot of patience but I don't even think I could put up with all that bull ###### with out going off on someone like that.

Man! What is up with these veteran truckers and BABY WIPES!! I had a female trainer (I am a female also) at Schneider that drove me insane with that! Then she did not want to stop to shower! When it came MY time to drive I strait pulled into a FJ and gave her fat smelly ### the middle finger as I went to go get me a shower!

Third week, driving as a team now, mentor insists that we take all loads and do them RIGHT Now so he can get another load. Guess he wants that money for my driving. better now that he or me is asleep but when he is awake oh boy. First i dont hold the gear shift correctly, i use my hand, i am supposed to use only 3 fingers, i either turn my directionals on too soon, too late, leave them on too long or turn them off too soon.

EVERY thing out of his mouth starts out with a negative, he increases my stress by having bad comments about the road, the city, the toll booth, the other drivers etc. Of course dispatch is never right and routing is only a "guide" he KNOWS EVERY road, town, etc and his routes are best.

Sitting at a terminal now waiting for an empty and he has decided to circumvent the system and go find his own and tell them to attach it to us.

Yesterday was clean up day, had to remove all the carpeting, sweep and mop the floor, vacuum the carpet and upholstery, clean the doors,vinyl, windows, defrost the fridge etc. I feel like i am livining with my mother.

He still does not get out of the truck, pisses in a bottle and "freshens" up with baby wipes.

Got to go -- he is going to find a trailer.

I am beginning to think waiting on hold for help is the NORM with all these companies. It was the same way for both Werner and Schneider ... well at least now I know!

Thank GOD I am done with that, did learn to back up fairly well, did not hit anything
and can alley dock in only 20 or 30 minutes!

Got my first truck, the first one they tried to give me was full of food and bugs, the next one was fairly clean and new a 05 Volvo with 300,000 miles.

Was told that I could not deadhead home (too far) so had to wait 15 hours for a load going close to my home. Got the load went home for 3 days and cleaned and supplied my truck.

First day on the job, sat for 10 hours waiting for a load, get a load and then only had 12 hours to drive 1047 miles. They said that is ok so off I go. Halfway there the computer goes out in the truck and I dont have any gauges, no speedometer, tach, etc.

Take the truck to the shop on Wednesday afternoon and they say they can not even look at it until Monday. So here I sit waiting for the company to decide what to do with my load and me.

So far not impressed with the company, takes very long to assign loads and if you call you can be on hold for an hour or more.

Considering going home and looking for another company or local job. Too bad I dont have any experience. If any one has any suggestions for driving in the Houston, TX area please let me know
