I blew 2 weeks 6000 miles two mentors before realizing neither truck passed preetrip and the mentors push to over look problems out of fear that the company will hold them at a terminal for over a week waiting for repairs so they stay broke or drive safe trucks cant have both.
I gave my walking papper to them wish I never gave them a chance.
Any one thinking of going to them CYOA take pictures document because they can become disgruntal employers and watch your DAC.
They have a revolving door 1 drops out 10 more drink the cool aid lol burp

Okay...what was wrong with them? Why wouldn't they pass PTI?
-
Did you miss that part of the licensing exam at your Department of Motor Vehicles...or just take the instructors word that "it will be OK..just run with it"!
Somehow....it doesn't pass muster......your post/complaint that is!Injun Thanks this. -
Hmm.
Now I'll admit to driving trucks with no radio, no cruise control, no air conditioning, etc etc. But if I ever had something safety related, that truck was in line for the shop, even if it took 3, 4, 5 days.
Yes, Swift shops are backed up worse than a fraternity toilet, but there is just no excuse for driving unsafe equipment. Especially as a mentor.123456, otherhalftw, Injun and 1 other person Thank this. -
Sam Hell Thanks this.

Our student poster has not yet been able to detail what was wrong with either truck. If they wouldn't pass a PTI, it must have been glaring problems, yet, he won't (or more probably can't) say what exactly was wrong.
What does that tell ya? -
So I jumped not willing to drink that kinda cool aid how ever I should point out there are a lot of great drivers with them I just drew two bad apples and when mentors try coaxing you to violate the law you know its not good. -
There are people who don't give a crap about their equipment. That's a fact.
As for the front end, if there was no excessive play in the steering wheel, his tires may have needed balancing or maybe an alignment. Neither of these issues will get you shut down at a scale. What would feel like a minor thing in a car is often magnified in a truck because the parts are so much bigger. While it sounds like something that needs attention, it may not be as serious as you believe.
As for the company guy with the air brake problem, well, he might consider getting it fixed when the DOT brake safety blitz catches up with him. Might have some trouble explaining the ticket to Swift, too.Sam Hell Thanks this. -
I know its been awhile, but when I was at Swift I had a couple of repairs done and it was executed quickly I was in and out in a day ! just my experience
