This one may still train husband/wife together.
Call to be sure; some ads are out there about husband/wife training together.

I've never heard of couples being able to train In the same truck can I have someone else verify this?

Usually if you have at least 3 months verified exp within 1 yr of graduating an accredited truck driving school, you shouldn't have to go with a trainer,at least that's how it is at my current job. Training is the absolute worst part of getting in trucking imo,I actually never graduated training, after being with 4 different companies and 5 different trainers because wouldn't no body leave me alone and let me figure out backing on my own I found us xpress they only require 3 mo to seat you in a. Truck..I do unfortunately recommend that you go out with trainers separately for about 6 weeks don't just jump in,bad as training sucks we all have to pay our dues in putting up with it,who knows y'all might get awesome trainers that will become lifelong friends or at least someone to call when you get yourself into some crap which will happen alot in your first year. Good luck and let me know how it works out of if ya need a referral here to get in the door .they just started training here again but it's still hush hush and you really need an insider to get you to the right people since variant went under, they used to send all trainees there but now we have a couple trainers on my SE regional account with costco

3 people in a truck sounds like a terrible idea.

It's been over a decade since I started with Swift. Back then experienced drivers went out with a mentor for two weeks and new hires went out for 240 hours of logged driving, which amounted to about five or six weeks. I don't remember exactly what counted as "experienced", but I do remember that it had to be in a semi and it had to be recent. The two week period for experienced drivers was just to make sure you knew how to use the elog, how to file paperwork, what Swift's various rules were, etc. I don't know what their policies are now but I'm certain you you aren't going to get out of doing some time with a mentor - unless of course you are bringing your own truck.

EDIT: I *did* just locate this gem, however... Focus appears to be shifting from Variant to ‘blocking and tackling’ at U.S. XpressLast edited: Oct 11, 2022
