The trucking industry has to be the only industry in America that has been allowed to run so many business scams at once and get away without any judicial or civil justice. Although the industry is heavily regulated in the name of "safety" which mostly has a negative impact on drivers, the corporations themselves are allowed to step on their drivers relentlessly and unscrupulously.
Sad state of affairs this type of business practice...

US Highways are great for a vacation, but not if you want to actually get a truckload someplace. Try the Navigo routing out of Crawfordville, IN vs US 213 N to I-74 W to I-57 S to reach I-40/44 and you'll see what I mean. Navigo routing looks shorter, until you discover that your TOP speed will be 55, more often 45. You will cover long stretches at 35 mph, and will slow frequently to 15 - 25 as you pass through small towns and several residential areas. You will 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours on the US/SR routing and around 2 hours staying on the interstates.Lonesome Thanks this.

In any other industry...people would be going to prison in those companies. Drivers need to start suing...plenty of trip and fall attys that would love a go at them.
It seems there is one firm that specializes in going after Swift and other megas for accidents....even has the Swift logo on their page. http://www.frg-law.com/carriers/swift-transportation/SOLID C0LD and snowlauncher Thank this. -
I am so sorry for your loss.
This industry will chew you up and spit you out several times, it's happened to most of us with experience. I have never work for Swift, but there are worse companies out there... that may be hard to believe but do some reading on here and you will find out it's true. The routing that you speak of is pretty much run-of-the-mill for most companies.
My company uses some sort of PC Miler. I never get my total miles driven either, but at least I am not losing three or four hundred miles a week during a 3000-mile week
If you have a death in the family, A decent Company would tell you to stop in your tracks, park the truck at the nearest safe location, and buy you a rental car or a plane ticket home and get the truck themselves. My company offered that when I lost my dad, but I was already on the way home, 500 miles from home, but the added stress of waiting would have just stressed me out more, so I hauled ### on home for another 500 miles.snowlauncher and SHOJim Thank this. -
Not if Swift can help it, thanks be to the wonderful world of HireRight.

Well with the new rules that they have to comply with The Fair Credit Reporting Act let's see if they do something stupid because now it's easy to get stuff taken off if it's fraudulent
-
Now who determines what is or isn't fraudulent?
-
Well the company is now have to respond within a certain amount of time I believe it's 30 days from an inquiry from hireright and if they do not respond within that time frame then it's automatically removed by law... If the company does respond then they have to provide proof that what they're saying occurred really did occur... now whether the company makes up a bunch of garbage and said that the higher right is a whole nother story
-
Yeah if you want another mega company job you gotta worry about the dac hire right thing
Lot of medium companies check driving record and hope you got the hang of it at swift.
Just tell them you worked hard and got experience at swift.they don't want a complainer poisoning the environment
