I will repeat this which I know because it's how I was hired as well as three of my friends, no dock work.......

Sygma does hire with no CDL. In Pa, Sygma Harrisburg will hire you as a driver helper till they get you scheduled for school. Then they send you to Lebanon County Career School/Sage in Lebanon, Pa. Not sure why they told you "no" down there.

I just started with Sygma San Antonio, Tx on 7/18/12. The Drug Test was a urine test. I had 2 days of orientation that quickly covered benefits and alot on safety. I leave out mon morning the 23rd at 2am with a trainer(everyone goes out with a trainer).I will be Linehaul so I will only train for about a week. He's not there to teach me to drive just teach me Sygmas way and computer. We will be back tues some time and leave out again wed am. I have been driving for 28 years so linehaul might be the best option for me.
Linehaul is going out and picking up from venders and delivering to Sigma and Sysco warehouses. That also means no touch and no waiting at company whse. I was told we are required to get motel for our break and they also only send us out in day cab.they pay milage plus stop $40(not counting leaving san antonio or return to san antonio), perdiem and hourly 15.00.

I might move to delivery after I get in a little better shape. I must say being 49 years old I probably will stay where I'm at.I know a couple of the guys on linehaul and I checked the pay on 2 of the line haul routes and it will work out to about $1050 to $1250 a week.

    Benefits

    Uniforms $300.00 + $100.00 For Boots
    Ins. Blue Cross Blue Shield
    401k
    Pension
Safety Bonus $1000.00a year + $200.00 added every yr after to max $3000.00
    Qrtr Bonus
    Bywkly Bonus
    Vacation 2 wks 1st yr
    3 floating personal days
    6 sick days
    And much more.

Good luck JR. Seems when I was at Sygma Pa the linehaul or "freight" run guys as we called them, were the happiest. Some of the delivery routes may pay more but you won't be killing yourself like those guys do. Enjoy

Thanks. Everyone seems real nice there. VP even stopped me in the hall to introduce himself and welcome me to the company.
