Not sure if I managed to send you pm.
Anyway... had to split. You could probably talk the guy who runs the gear warehouse into pulling that out for you.

Cleared out my truck. Everything of value is stacked in my Hotel room. Just didn't have the energy/desire to go home this weekend. (Home being a spare bedroom at my Sister's house 4 hours drive away). Elbow was feeling great til I moved all the crap from my truck. Not a lot of weight, but just moving that left arm left it feeling rough.
Got a lot of encouragement over the weekend, including this forum. DAYUMM I love the future
So, back to my job in Siberia tomorrow writing down truck numbers. Some torture at the Physio in the AM. Meanwhile I got another driver to give me a hand with the only thing I was worried about, which was the microwave. I can move it, just trying not to mess myself up while I do it.
If anyone has a bionic arm for me, I'll take it. This pretty much sucks. Just want to get back out on the road. But this too, shall pass. -
So I quit my "light-duty" job at system. Basically you gave to sit at a guard shack writing down truck numbers all day. But you can't listen to music, read a book or magazine. Basically just watch the grass grow. I live 170 miles away so they paid for a hotel room.
Anyway, I did all this and then late Thurs afternoon, thus guy I've never seen walks up, introduces himself as the Director if Risk Management and then proceeds to berate me for daring to have an on the job injury, intimates that I'm a malingerer and then SCREAMS at me that because I checked my email on my phone I'm "BREAKING THE RULES!"
So after this verbal abuse, said ####### walks off. I take a few minutes to calm down and go to talk to my contact/boss for light duty to complain. I'm explaining to her and it turns out said ####### us her BOSS. He see's me and drags me into his office, closes the door and tells me that if I don't like the verbal abuse, " boo hoo."
So frankly, to hell with that. I'd rather be unpaid than put up with that nonsense. Still working for system, but God help you if you get hurt on the job. They will do everything in their power to make your life miserable. The last part was over the fing top. Bastich knows he can abuse you cause if you answer back, It's your ###. Worst kind if cowardly bullying and shame on the company for allowing it. Seriously re-evaluating my employment options. I would have taken a swing at this clown except I have a left arm that doesn't work and like being employed, which is exactly why the cowardly POS talked to me the way he did. Not down on System as a company, but this part of it is seriously broken.
There are other companies out there and frankly NO ONE should have to put up with this crap. -
Congrats that you have the balls to leave without knocking him down! The big companies don't care, if you're injured, they try to get rid of you. Happened to me last year after I broke my thumb and hand.
Jubal3 Thanks this. -
Light duty guys don't seem to be around for long lately. This could explain why.
I've seen guys sitting in the shack reading books... hell I've seen guys sitting in the fuel shed watching movies on their laptop and acting put out when you disturb them to get fuel or DEF.
I don't know what's going on internally with the company at this point. I just try to avoid having any contact with that side of things.fargonaz Thanks this. -
My feelings exactly, the farther away from Spokane, the better. Fear Safety, they'll jam it in with sand.
Sneakerfix Thanks this. -
They dont give crap about you.
As long as you make them money - they will keep you around. Its all about money for them.
Why do you think they keep bringing in 15-20 new guys every Monday morning?
Its cause so many quit due to rude dispatchers/shippers/receivers and a LOUSY pay. Yeah, after a year of work you can get that 1/2 (thats right, half a cent) "raise"
Also should mention $h!tty tarps they give you, one was badly patched together and just started to fall apart on me as i was driving.
In the end they tried blaming me for that tarp splitting.
Very low end company imo. -
This is how I see it if you don't call and just run nobody will bother you so far that's what I do everyone I've worked with has treated me very good my pay is always good -
Well you can believe what they tell you or see whats going on on your own.
pay is LOW, they start out at what now. 36cpm if im correct.
my trainer was only making. 38cpm after being there over 13 years -
The pay depends on your fleet my starting pay is higher on the sliding scale they have because of my fleet. I don't really look at cpm you can be paid .45cpm and still make less then someone making .36cpm it's all about the miles. Like I said I'm happy with my pay right now 2500 to 3k miles a week
I think your trainer is making .39cpm OTR plus his extra pay so about .45cpm or more.
