I just got a truck and leased on with their bulk/tanker devision and figured all this out over the last year and a half researching if going o/o would be worth it and we have 50-55% dead head as we only run for our dedicated customers.

 

WRONG! They couldn't care less if you sit? Your truck doesn't cost them anything.

They have company drivers. Guess who's going to get a load first, you (the truck that doesn't cost them anything to sit) or a company driver (the truck they have to pay for). Let me help you with that. The company driver.

You paid $1,300 for a rental, yet could not afford to buy or lease for less? I can lease a BRAND NEW trailer for $850 per mo on a lease. That 10% is too much even for a rental unless you were being charged weekly.
Daily or weekly rates are for short term use.
