Aren't we a lively bunch. Nice to see you stop back around Milktanker. I got me a job lined up Cow hauling out of SD. They are working to get me on their insurance. I probably shoulda waited to quit until i was 23 yrs old. Getting insured with these smaller companies is a bit of a pain, but they're working with me. They're saying the have plenty of work to keep a pot rolling all winter. Probably find out today or tomorrow if they can insure me or not.
I saw your W9 you posted up on the left lane page. Sorry to hear about the tranny in the International. Seemed to work out for the best for ya though.

Nice! Get ready to run like you've never run before. Give me a call or add me on fb. I'm curious who you wound up going with
DJGuam and ramblingman Thank this. -
I got the owners cell phone # and had a nice 30 min chat with him as he was driving his truck. Guy's been going for 44 years and still loves it. The insurance company is going to decide whether i get hired or not at this point though.Milktanker Thanks this. -
You are right, they don't care about you while the trailer/truck is down. I've exchanged loads with a guy and day later my driver manager is calling me asking me if there's something wrong with the brakes/axles leaking and 5th wheel is bent? I told her its fine but I can take it to petro/TA to have them check it out. Basically spent all day sitting at the truck stop getting trailer fixed next day and I didn't make any money that day. Their trailers are pretty ###### imo, recently I've been blessed to pick up a preloaded 2014 trailer and I was so happy to pull it since there was nothing wrong with it. Their trailers are ticking time bombs, never know what awaits ahead as you pick up another trailer.

Be careful with the new step decks. They have an issue with the leveling valve where it will flip upside down and the bags will go completely empty. It's a common problem with the new Western 48' steps they bought. I ran a brand new 2015 48' step and it would happen completely randomly. A bit back where i got fudged up in West Memphis right before i quit the reason the DOT pulled me in was because the leveling valve had flipped around and deflated the trailer air bags putting my front spread at 25,000 lbs. I quickly fixed it,but they still wrote me up for it.
I heard many drivers complaining about the trailers because we swap loads constantly you never really get to know your trailer. It is an convenience, but at the same time a curse.
The nice part of it was i could go over a week without tarping or loading a trailer. I would pick up a Pre-loaded trailer of Kaiser Aluminum in Spokane and run it over to New Jersey then load up and get back to Chicago to grab a Pre-loaded trailer and run over to LA or Seattle just a a couple examples. Pre-loaded trailers often saved me from sitting for the weekend as well. The soonest i can unload sometimes would be Friday Evening with no possible way to re-load to keep me running over the weekend. Thanks to a company yard nearby I could wake up Saturday morning and go grab a loaded trailer at my leisure and keep on rolling through the weekend. Systems has really done a great job of adapting to the E-log mandate to maintain efficiency IMO. Pre-loading or swapping flatbed loads in times past wasn't even a comprehensible idea by most flatbed carriers.
The curse of it was you never get to know your trailer. The trailers have air gauges on them just like the trucks, but everyone is different even if its the same model and year rendering the air gauges just about useless. One might read 60 PSI and be fully loaded while another of the same year and model reads 60PSI and only has 29k on the tandems. Even doing long haul like i did i typically had to give up my trailer every week or two and start over.
My personal experience with the Systems trailer was pretty good. In the time i was there i never had to adjust brakes once. All the trailers i picked up had good brakes and held air well enough. The tractors air System was spectacular. It was not uncommon to come back to my truck after 5 days of sitting and the Air tanks would still be at 120 PSI.
I got written up by the DOT for 2 trailer issues in my year and a half there
1.Chaffed air line. It was on the back side of an air line which was rubbing against the axle. They were using me to shuttle trailers an that was my 4th trailer that day. I should have caught it but I didn't. It was only a minor Chaff so they just told me to get it fixed down the line.
2.The issue with the leveling valve flipping around i mentioned above.
You will lose a lot of money if you put a trailer into the shop though on a regular basis and sit around waiting for it. I almost never waited for service on the truck/trailer, but you have to work the System.
I always would send in a trailer condition report if there was issues when i dropped the trailer, but would never deal with them on my time unless it was an imminent safety hazard. My truck service was always done during my hometime and was ready to go when i came back since they prefer their drivers to park their trucks at company terminals for home time. -
This reminds me of another trailer I was pulling and all of sudden I hear loud whooshing sound coming from tractor protection valve/emergency brake. I look at the gauges and sure enough Im loosing pressure. I was on highway and was only 5 miles from T/A and was able to pull off highway and as soon as I slowed down it set trailer brakes. Had a split in air line, good thing it didn't happen on the side of the road.

What is flip valve, can you post picture of it, etc. Im pretty new to this and have no idea what you're talking about.
As far as fuel solution, I don't see why you guys are having problem with it. If I'm going east from Spokane, I'll be filling on the way, ie. Post Falls, Billings MT, Fargo ND. Usually I don't have to wait at all and will pull in right into empty fuel island. Of course as soon as I slow down coming off of freeway I turn that clock off-duty. I've been getting 650-670 miles a day when I have hours and don't have to load/unload. -
Does anyone know if Systems uses the DAC report otherwise known as "hireright" now. I ordered a report on them as of 11-24 which was 12 days after i quit and it doesn't indicate any employment history supplied from them. It does show them requesting a DAC report during the hiring process, but it doesn't show them adding any information to the report.
According to their website
http://www.systemtrans.com/driver-employment-verification
all employment verification is shown here
https://www.driverfacts.com/driverFACTS.asp
I just pulled my report and this is all it said.
It seems a little too simple to be all their is. I figured they would want to tell my future employer i scratched a bumper a year and a half ago or something lol.
Rugerfan,Milktanker you guys ever see anything from them on your DAC report? -
Haven't checked my dac recently. Probably should but I dont intend to work for anyone but me from here on out.
ramblingman Thanks this. -
How long am I going to be on "probation period" or "green fleet" before I get my .02c raise?
