Feel dirty when you're inside one compared to loves, pilot and J. Even if it may be cleaner. I honestly think they should remodel and change the colors.

However they usually have better parking than the 3 I just listed. Especially pilots.

They also charge the most for a shower of any truck stop.

I'm lumping TA and Petros together by the way

As a new driver, I exclusively went to Flying J, because I became familiar with the layout and services.

After 6 months or so I ventured other places.

I mainly fuel at Petro/TA now.

They’re all about the same to me now.

Wait til you discover kwik trip, Sapp bros, ambest,... you won't believe you don't have to wait in line to fuel or pay for your smokes or whatever... it's called service. All of the big chains fail at service.

Today? Nothing much. I am close to being 61 now. Back when I was 8 there were the Union 76 truck stops, today owned by TA. A few years later Jack Cardwell opened up a company called Petro and for a long time, they were run VERY well. Nice clean showers, drivers were the customers they really cared about. Those old driver's only signs you can see in some locations today were actually enforced. The truck stops were clean and the prostitutes and drug dealers were actively ran off. The golden age of TRUCK stops is over. Even TA stood for truckstops of America. Today its travel centers of America. I am not the only person that posts in these boards that remember this. I have sit and watched these businesses morph from good clean secure facilities into what they are today. It is a dang shame too! it is all about ---------

I frequent TA's and Petro's because they're the only stops besides loves the company I work for allows drivers to fuel at. I have been to others of course. There really is no difference if you can fuel at any stop. While some aren't as nice as others that is all a matter of personal opinion that might not match your opinion.

Anyone remember the old truck stop that used to be near where the Ontario mills Mall is now? One of the best.
