If you were crossing scales in OR with no issues then that means the company has an OR fuel permit. To keep the permit they have to report miles, I can’t recall if it’s monthly or quarterly, it’s been a while since I’ve been out there.

They charge the drivers because they probably pay on a 1099 and on their end they pretend you’re a contractor.

 

Another company taking advantage of drivers who don't know the difference between being a L/P driver or an actual owner operator.

 

I don't work for them but everything you are complaining about is, because you didn't read the paperwork you signed is why. The same reason everyone complains about these types of companies you signed with a 1099 Chicago outfit and thought everything was going to above board? I'm guessing when they were editing your logs for you do 58,000 miles in 13 weeks which is an average of 4,461 you weren't complaining.

Before you pretend to be an owner operator maybe learn the business and how companies should operate, and read what you sign. Or just look at every thread on this board about every Operation out of Chicago.
