Well, it looks like I will be street parking for my 10 tonight.

I have 19h10m on duty time to get from San Bernardino, CA to Hesperia, OR. 1087 miles. Some of them in CA.

There are winter weather warnings covering all the CA routes.

So, I will be finishing a 10 here, then rolling overnight to Las Vegas, then up US 93.

My first live load in months. I will be delayed at the shipper until too late to make good time on I-15 N.

Its real simple. Regular financing you have a title in hand. Gimicky financing you don't.

Crete has 500 or so owner operators under their authority. A substantial number of them bought trucks from Crete. I suspect that if they were playing funny games with titles, it would be common knowledge by now.

It seems as if you are determined to turn every single large trucking company into an evil soul-sucking monster where success is impossible for an o/o.

Crete certainly has room for improvement. But they are not the devil.

That's funny, everything that I have ever financed (cars pickups motorcycles house semi trailers and more) the bank holds title till paid off.

They don't hold the title. The state issues a title with a lien on it. In some states its referred to as a certificate of title but serves the same purpose as a title with a lien.

In my state they (bank or finance co.) holds the actual title period. Now you can get a copy of the title but it is practically useless. When you pay the loan off they send it to you stamped paid.

And prime/cr egland/crst/every mega carrier had 500 or more guys leased to them and/or lease purchasing from them. And all of those guys talk about what a great program it is yet we all know how well it works out for 99% of them. From what you've said in this thread, Crete is no different.

I am not saying they are evil, but they are certainly not on your side.

By copy I'm assuming you mean certificate of title or something similar that proves ownership.
