Have no idea at this time what assets were purchased...please remember that HUNDREDS of drivers and company employees just lost ALL bennies at the stroke of midnight. No insurance, no 401k, ect. ect. ect. Have no idea where that has left Lease Purchase drivers or Owner Operators at this time. I personally was fortunate enough to have delivered a load that was 80 miles from my home and went home from delivery. The only reason I have posted this in the "bad company" section is because this came with no warning at all. Will post updates as I get them.

Looks like they bought most of it if they're laying people off.

Well with 842 drivers and whatever # of employees in the offices and shops 80 employees getting laid off is not that big a %age could be just getting rid of the deadbeats that the old management knew about but never acted on getting rid of, be different if it was 800+ getting laid off

I'm sure most of the layoffs were the office crew such as payroll, recruiting, load planning, etc. I had them on a possible destination for employment as I'm considering leaving my local job to go back OTR - guess thats not going to happen. I saw Tango a lot at our stores and our warehouse because they hauled paper loads and bottled water loads pretty frequently. Hopefully the drivers don't get shafted by this - I talked with a lot of good people there, people with 5+ years experience.

UPDATE: It is my understanding at this time Celadon purchased trucks, trailers, and accounts...drivers will have option to apply to Celadon and keep seniority (that I highly doubt).
The Madisonville, KY location will not be effected due to it being a different entity.
All other assets of Tango Transportation are to be sold: Main office, Greenwood yard, (West Memphis Ar yard was sold several weeks ago and closed).
Drivers are being advised that they can get insurance thru the Obama Care exchange until Celadon employs them or they find another place of employment with insurance.
The 80 employees are indeed office and techs from Shreveport LA area. That will leave a skeleton crew in place at office until transaction is completed.
While I have been there many years, It saddens me that a company issues a WARN notice AFTER the fact they completed sales. This is one of the very reasons our country has become a place where workers no longer feel a loyalty to work for a company until retirement age and promote the company in a positive way while training the ones who will be replacing them.chalupa, drvrtech77, HorseShoe and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yes it was

Beware if you are at tango and celadon starts making big promises they will take care of the existing tango drivers. When Veriha bought my company out they started doing that and it turned out to be all lies.
