Training right now with a chemical hauling company. Trainer is okay, a little off-kilter but okay. So I was feeling comfortable until at the end of the other day, he said I need to study my strap-on charts.

Don't think I'll be there much longer.

Might want to clarify before jumping ship. Are you sure he didn't say "strapping chart"? Not really something that needs to be studied however as each tanker trailer will have it's own due to the precision necessary. Strapping is simply a measurement of volume based on readings taken from a measuring stick from the top of the tank.

Heel: product left in the bottom of the tank.

Residue: a hazmat tank that's been unloaded but not washed out

I don't know how it is with the semi's, but with the little 2 compartment, 4400 gal bobtail I drive; if you put a lot of product in the back without much up front, it get really lively come 60 mph. LOL

I'm ashamed to admit I learned lesson twice, both time with epoxy loads. That stuff does not come out of hair without a fight! Forget about saving the clothes.

It's days like these that I wish I pulled a van......120' of 2.5" hose gets heavy by the 6th one. If my wheel base was 3" longer, I'd have to pull out another 20'. Thank God it was an ISO and not a domestic tank. (Order called for 2" but we didn't have enough clean hose . That would of been so much easier). At least I get paid the pump charge, dmrg plus load pay and a morning work out, so I guess it has it's up side. :)

You could check with local 1203 (gasoline) companies. Those are usually local jobs and most will train you.
