I never ran team but used to have all kinds of "crash and burn" dreams when I started driving. If I was sleeping with the truck running I would really have them. I would come flying out of the sleeper into the driver seat thinking that the truck was rolling down a mountain by itself.
A couple of years ago I was training a student. He was sleeping in the top bunk while I was driving. I went through a construction zone where the road kinda dips to one side, straitens, and dips back to the other side at the end. As I go through this I hear, "Oh no! Oh no! Lord help us! Help me Jesus! Help me Jesus!," then after, "Are we OK? Are we still alive? Are we in the ditch?"

Years back my 2 brothers in law were bullhauling from Va. to Ks. One night M. stopped in a Wv. restarea to help another driver, while he was helping,W.(rookie),went to use restroom and returned to find them gone.He had to catch a ride with a freight company driver who managed to get hold of another of his companies drivers who watched for two bullhaulers so W. finally caught up an hour or two later.

I'm actually not. I'm usually the calm type who "doesn't sweat the small stuff, just pay attention to detail". I slept pretty well in a team truck as long as I trusted my partner, but after a while out there driving/sleeping/driving/sleeping without much else, it did seem to start messing with my mind. Driving and sleeping begin to blur together after a while.

A properly logged team truck NEVER has to stop mind you. We never had any 10 hour breaks, no 34 hour resets. It was pretty much drive/sleep non stop for 6+ weeks straight. :biggrin_2556:
