Good luck DFO. if you get to the point where you can and want to get back on the road good luck. If not there is life after trucking.
mickimause and dieselfuelonly Thank this. -

91B20H8, mickimause, 88 Alpha and 2 others Thank this. -
I hope that you get better. I myself deal with anxiety and I take medication but it allows me to drive. I do hope that things do get better for you and you can continue to drive again.
91B20H8 and dieselfuelonly Thank this. -
Do you mind sharing what medication you take? If you want to send it in a PM that's cool too. I'm interested in knowing what other drivers that deal with this are taking, I'm up for giving anything a shot at this point.mickimause Thanks this.

DFO, look for other forums of folks with your same issue. It can help where others cant. having that experience shared from others if vital.
mickimause and dieselfuelonly Thank this. -
I take a medication called Celexa. I am one of the people who get mad real easy. I can't handle being around crowds and I just soon stay to myself. When I take the medicine it does get better and I am happy go lucky. I did try a different medication at the doctors request but it made me more difficult to deal with so I went back to Celexa.91B20H8, mickimause and dieselfuelonly Thank this.

Been doing a lot of that, unfortunately a lot of them aren't truckers lol. That's been the most difficult part of this process is finding out what works for me and what also would fly with making sure it doesn't disqualify me from getting a med card. SNI wouldn't give me a list of medications that were go/no go claiming "it's changing all the time". So every time the doctor tried something new I'd have to call in, give a bunch of information about what medication I was taking and why, then they'd want the doctor to write a letter explaining like 5 different categories of crap and then schedule another visit to a SNI-approved location to get a new DOT physical... too much jumping through hoops.
Awesome, thank you. I have seen that mentioned several times on forums and on reddit where people were asking about trucking and dealing with anxiety. The first one I tried was called Citalopram, it has done absolutely nothing for me. The Atarax helps, but obviously I can't drive with that. I'll see what the psychiatrist thinks when I talk with her next week. I'll mention the Celexa and that I've heard of several truckers using this and see what she thinks.
Thanks for the kind thoughts and advice everyone.Fajo and mickimause Thank this. -
