That's how I understand it DBL TME, they utilize the information they have at their disposal but the decision is theirs. That's one area where the union is worth it's weight in gold, no effin around with your benefits when you have to file. In fact the first thing unemployment asks you in my area is if you are union and what local, the unions have litigated with them so they cannot harass union workers the same way they do non-union. It's crap but it is what it is. I've never had a problem with unemployment claims, but in fairness I've never claimed after being fired or quitting just when I'm laid off which has been the case far to often this year. Next year it is not going to help me very much because so little money was paid in this year which

So if you're denined Unemployment, can't you claim public assistance/welfare?

Not that I want either, but it seems government takes all this money, and they dole it out to keep people dependant on it. Wasn't it just last year that food stamps were having add campaigns to tell people "hey you MIGHT be eligable!"?

I was fired for a disability. I had a not at fault accident (I had in my personal vehicle) that screwed up my knee, which wasn't a big deal because I was in an automatic at the time. My truck died and they said it would be at least a week or two before it was fixed, so they stuck me in a 10 speed. With the 10 speed my knee started acting up so I reminded my FM of my knee injury and asked if they could get me back in an automatic. Next thing I know i'm being terminated and told I should probably file for disability with the state.

Worst part is I was less than a year in, so now DS keeps calling and sending threatening letters, because they want their training money from me now. As far as i'm concerned, USA should pay it. I was fine in the automatic, and would've made my year commitment.

    :biggrin_2553:

I don't know what i'm going to do now.

I was reading through this thread and begin to wonder what happened to these drivers. Did most find trucking jobs?
