I drive several routes mill to mill , all at night. 11 to 12 hrs a night through high desert and woods..2 lane black top. Often an hour will pass without another set of lights. Things do tend to become a bit unreal at times when a person is trying to be hyper alert. When the bushes start jumpin I shut er down and walk around the truck a couple times , check out the stars etc. I never drink more than 3 cups of coffee a night...learned that lesson! Yet I love the night work... sleep all day rock an roll all night

I used to run 1200 miles with one fuel stop midway straight through grand rapids, mi to central tx area (caffiene pills and mountain dew worked wonders). I have seen all kinds of wierd stuff that wasn't there. This was in the early ninties. Never had an accident and never caused one. Never got a ticket or violation.

I have seen the black dog.
He haunts me in my dreams. He waits for me to be so tired I fall asleep it surely seems.
His color is so black it glows with unholy light. I have no doubts he has no soul not on this cold night.
He grows with each leap and bound, then suddenly he makes a sound so eerie, to others he must beckon.
His eyes blaze with anger so intense, it terrifies my every sense. What sin have I done to cause such offense?
He chases me through the night His teeth are teeth are like daggers, sight of them makes me stagger. I run through this endless dream, out of breathe so terrified I can’t even scream.
He’s right behind me on my heels, he's knows every turn. How I yearn for the light that will return with the dawn, the end of this night.
