    I guess you never met Mickey, or Karen or Tammy Fay Bakers half sister Ruth...they were all psycho and woman I've lived with. Mickey was the biggest psycho.:tard: :shaking2: :evil4:

    I made the very bad mistake of calling Mickey the C-word once.......That is a mistake I will never make again....

    Absolutely right.


    I've got the records to prove it, the first two years I was in OTR (drove local about 1.5 yrs before that) I ran hard. 100 hrs in 8 days was nothing but normal. I ran 120,000 miles that first year and grossed $150,000. Second year I ran about 130,000 miles and grossed $155,000 (no where near worth it)
    Since leasing onto Landstar where you must run legal, I'll drive about 110,000 miles this year and gross the same to the truck as I did those previous two years. I don't want to hear about those "thupertruckers" making so much money. The stress and damage done to your body alone will not make the "extra" money worth it.

    Let me add some more numbers into the mix. My 96 T600 with a CAT and 13 spd will do around 7.3mpg at 60-65 mph. At 75 mph the mpgs drop to 5.5
    In a years time running 110,000 miles the savings will be $12,817 if you figure fuel at $2.599 which is close to "average" for today. That pretty much shoots a hole dead thru the idea of "drive fast, make more money". Its also easy to see why so many big companies have their trucks governed at 60-65.

    Every time I see somebody blast past me at 75 to 90 I think to myself that I'm glad I'm not buying their fuel for one thing and second since they have that much money to waste I wish they would give some of it to me. :toothy10:

    I firmly believe that the "lone rangers" and "supertruckers" are directly the cause of so many of the DOT rules we have today. Them and the totally stupid on the road.

    As a Trucker I never had a coast to coast run, that I had to run that hard.

    While I was still in the military I took leave and drove home. Left Alameda Calif at noon on a friday and arrived at my parents 5 PM Sunday after noon on the Georgia/South Carolina Boarder.. I drove all day and most of the night only to stop to buy gas and a hamburger and mountain dews. Mostly had some dews in a cooler sitting next to me. Aron\und midnight, I had made it into New Mexico, and stopped at a rest Area and went in back of my Van and took a 2 hour nap. Next day again only to stop for gas and such. I stopped the next night in Ms. again for a 2 hour nap. Pre dawn was the hardest time. Once I saw the Sun I was fine..

    Praise God! Finally somebody wit a brain! There have been some other intelligent comments on here about the failure of those of us who go to fast or too long but I sincerely take my hat off to Brickman.

    I really think that the person who picks up too many speeding tickets needs to spend the week at the largest morgue in the state to grasp what too much velocity does to people. Then they can ride a bicycle everywhere for another week.
