I have a great outbound dispatcher and he occasionally needs help covering a load I don't normally do , without fail the conversation always starts with him " selling me the load "...pays real well etc etc .

 

Most generally a driver is his own worst enemy

I dont need a group to negotiate for me... Especially when I can work circles aroumd most of them. Wont catch me in a Union gig. I like the ability to prove myself, on my merits, then negotiate a wage/benefits/perks better than the average joe blow.

 

Women are a lot like horses. Once you tame them, they work real gentle. Been my experience with a few.

My response would be: Whuffo you got me in to this area anyway?

But, if it is such a good money making thing, why are you offering it to me?
Like "Wealth management types". If they can take my money and make me a fortune, why is he even talking to me?
Like "We can buy that corner, bypass is going to go within 500 feet of it". You are cutting me in on your "sure" thing?
Most drivers; with miles behind them and sanity intact, understood long ago. To become rich, you have do it alone.

Is any O/O reading this; posting who he is hauling for, where it is loading, details of loading or unloading difficulties, exact rate and how paid/when, etc.

Till he gets injured enough times. Takes longer for some quick healers to absorb enough damage...
