Restricted fueling list is better then a company telling you that you must fuel at this location on your route to this customer (in my opinion). I like the freedom of choosing where I want to park and fuel as I usually only fueled where I parked.
You don't run that heavy all the time do you? Most of my loads I didn't gross over 79k with an average probably heavy load being around 72-75k gross.
Attached is the first time I had exactly 80k gross. The load was supposed to only be like 40k, which it wasn't. Scrap paper loaded out of NY going to Philly. I fueled after scaling that (had 1/2 tank).

They also disconnect fifth wheel adjustments. I couldn't slide mine. They had mine so the steers were over by no less than 300 pounds. Even empty my steers weighed at 11800. I think the fuel tanks were to far forward on those Cascadias. It was wiered. With 32000 on the drives it would weigh around 12200 on the steers. With 29000, it would weigh 12300 on the steers. I just said screw. Ran with it.

I never drove a cascadia even though I asked for a "new" truck the entire time being there lol.
USA will adjust the 5th wheel if it isn't where it sits on most trucks of they same type. If you knew who to talk to and could prove you needed it further back then the shop would do it, but yeah... not being able to adjust the 5th wheel per-load sucks at times. In most states you can usually get away with whatever your tires are spec'd to, but of course it seems like it is whatever the officer decides to roll with.
If someone wanted to... on the trucks with the air slider you could just get a line with the correct fittings and attach it and you can slide it. But, if you do that you better make sure you don't get caught (or do something wrong) and remove it anytime you are going into a terminal.
I don't have to deal with moving anything anymore though
. Get loaded to 78-80k gross every time without having to move axle or 5th wheel and still be legal most of the time. Most I've heard of having to do with the load (from other drivers) is to slam on the brakes forward or reverse to shift the load to be "legal" per-axle for the scales.

The company I am with now tells us where to fuel and how much to get. They also give you a route. I have no basic problem with it. However some of the stops we get suck. Hard to get in and out. Like the TA just east of the scales on I 40 in Knoxville. There was one Pilot that was a real pain to get in. I just started blowing it off and telling FM I needed another fuel solution. I finally got a chance to confront the fuel guy at our home terminal about it. I told him that place was an accident waiting on a place to happen. They finally disabled it.
