Hey all some of you may remember me had an issue with orientation and then school tuition. I am with a decent carrier i will not name because i know things are tracked on here. I am a team driver. My experience with trucking so far. Waited in a hotel room for 3 and half weeks for a trainer. Got screwed out of my first check in orientarion because back office was slow verifying things amd a hold on my license because of a mistake at the dmv in my home state of oklahoma. Got my training with trainer done. Finished company training. Got 7 days hometime and here i am after a 28 hour bus ride and a flight across country to pick up company truck i have reached my destination ups in kemtucky to drop my first load 2000 miles later. It took from july 1st until now. Waiting on my background check to complete. Got my hazmat test passed. Im hungry. I love this career field. I know i want to be an owner opeator. Im writing down every shippers address and telephone number. I have no wife or kids at home. My plan is to save for my own truck so i can go straight to dealership. Then maybe landstar or mag. I will give weekly updates on my thread... Funny things so far... A car driving the wrong way on the exit and onto the wrong way of the highway. My puerto rican partner that is hilarious. Trying to find places to park. No driving a manual because my partner is auto only. Getting 42 cents a mile. Getting bored at times behind the wheel. The want of a cb radio... Desperado out.

For me it’s the joy of sharing a space smaller than the average prison cell for weeks at a time, the smell of stale urine soaked asphalt in the morning, and the unlimited availability of Subway sandwiches almost everwhere I stop.
