Listen, it's a scam plain and simple. Proponents say people that have sleep apnea are just as dangerous and have the same effects of Someone driving drunk. They also say that people that are in a position where it can effect public safety need to be tested.

Ok.....test all law enforcememnt, cab drivers, firemen, air traffic controllers, the military, national guard, corrections officers, school crossing guards and any and all employees where public safety can be compromised.

We don't want people out there that are impaired and have slow reaction times or can possibly endanger others now do we.

I have been on a cpap for 6 years and every thing that it was suppose to fix ...that I didn't have ....is now there its bad when you talk to the doctor and he told me its in my head and if I want off of the cpap I need to quit driving a truck . and its all because I had a heart attack on the job .Now I've gained 50lbs can't get a good nights sleep use to be when my feet hit the floor I was off and running not any more .and I've had 6 heart caths that the doctor didn't do anything .....see a high $ pattern hopefully they will get this stopped before they kill me the last heart cath I like to never got out of the Hospital couldn't get my heart rate above 50 so beware the scam there pulling for the money is going to kill some of us

    5'10", 190lbs.
Glad I don't have to worry about this garbage. Now, to lessen my blood pressure without drugs... that's my woe.

BP with meds just means a 1 year card.
That is nothing compared to being hooked up to a machine every night.

I don't have to deal with a CPAP for this job. If I did, I would probably work at Walmart or someplace.

I have a buddy who found out he had sleep apnea the hard way. Peeled the roof off like a sardine can. He walked away, but they still cant find the front tire to this day. Scuffed up the ladder on the ditch mower pretty good too.

I'd like to weigh in on this one... 15 yrs ago I was morbidly obese. Dr. requested sleep study. Apnea dx so I used c-pap. Loved it. Had surgery, lost 250+ and was verbally released. Didn't snore anymore. Now I'm a professional driver. When changing to my current company, I went to their doc. He required sleep study. Although my neck is normal and bmi is within range, he gave me a dx and a 60-day dot card. I've used the c-pap for the entire time. This time, I've hated it... 1st 3 days had allergic reaction to the plastics, adjusted to that, finally, but still sneezing every day. Machine wakes me 2 to 3 times a night and I'm more exhausted now than when I was fat. Company is interested more in compliance than health, it seems, because no one has opted for a 2nd study. BTW, anyone know why I have to return to that doc? I mean, there are company terminals nationwide that can do the same study... Plus, I'm already out the cost of the machine and it's costing me 1800 flippin miles to go get this done right now. And now, I won't be able to renew my cdl without the c-pap numbers ever again. I'm angry and feeling a bit scammed.

How'd you get flagged for that if your "fat" numbers are within the limits?
