Basing something on a percentage is not always a good thing...like the teacher that grades on the curve.

The higher number of units with an equal percentage of incident means more incidents.
A company with 100 units only need 10 to fall in a category to get 10%, but a company with 10,000 need 1,000 to equal that 10%.....

So you can look at the percentage 2 different ways...just like the glass is half full and the glass is half empty!

The whole CSA thing is BS! It is set up with built in paradoxes!

CSA is as Winston Churchill put it, "It is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma". Not about CSA but, it fits.

agreed, BUT on the other side of the coin, just because a company has MORE events, does that make them anymore 'unsafe'? isnt the company that has 15,000 trucks and has 15 roll overs just as safe as the company that has 1000 trucks and 1 roll over? having more power units dont make a company anymore safe or unsafe as one with 1,000.

i dont think you could get any more accurate way than a percentile ranking--it is what it is
the only way it would be off is if company A desnt do the miles that company B does

but knowing his history, he sure was quick to publish the information without taking much time to actually look at the data provided.
