I’m betting it came out of the port and is going to a local warehouse. You see those guys cutting corners and running a load and a half on each run a lot.

Seriously, how long does it take to throw 4 more straps and add edge protection?

That trailer is Manufactured by Western trailers. Was this a fleet or possible leased O/O?
These pictures should be sent to the safety department, with as much info as possible of what ever company that may be on that truck.

The “ I have hauled these a hunnerd time, just like this”
Then you get 101, and it goes sideways. Just takes once.

Those fixed winches on Western trailers make securing stuff like that a pain. I've loaded taller eye-to-the-sky coils on one and I had to put a zillion straps on it because I couldn't really put them where I wanted. Plus a trip chain on the front and rear.
If anyone has pics of eye-to-the-sky stuff secured correctly it would be cool if they posted them.
I agree with the poster who thinks the shipper shoulda not let him roll. The shipper didn't even band together those 2 they have on the same skid, from what I can see on my phone. Bands won't help if he dynamites the brakes but they are good for something.

Kyle G., D.Tibbitt and Wasted Thyme Thank this.

If you want to use less straps/chains on a load, puttin rubber down is the fastest, safe way.
