One thing I love about this job is the solitude. "Work environment" is nearly 100% me.

And hey, if you don't like the company, there are a thousand other companies that will pay you a bonus to quit and come work for them! It's great to be in demand.

    Considering and Skydivedavec Thank this.

It is an American's right to complain. I remember walking around the rice patties in Vietnam, did I enjoy the beautiful scenery. No. All I could think about was the stink. Did I notice how lovely the woman who shot me was no. I just cussed and fired back.

You have to remember that if we are online we are not out driving. I do most of my postings when I am at the house. Lots of the postings here are from people who have just quit or been fired from the jobs.

Plus as the man with the RN wife stated, people just #####. I am political. Once while running for office, I ask a group of teachers what was the biggest problem facing education today. They all said, LOW PAY. So I said, if we pay more we will get better teachers. Yes they shouted. Which of you then would we get rid of? Silence. Teachers have the easiest job and are all over paid, but no one will say that. Why? Because we are taught not to by the teachers.

You will love trucking. It lets you command your own ship. You will go from Port to Port just like you did in the Marines. And like it was in the Marines, you will have to pay for sex, while the U S Air Force vets get it for free. :biggrin_25525:

Really don't let these guys fool you. Trucking is a dirty job ran by dirty crooks, and each one will bend you over. If you don't like negativity. Don't be a truck driver. Sadly some people think because you don't talk about roses, lily's, and rainbow's you are a negative person. Well if you are going to come into this industry. BYOL Bring Your Own Lube.

For the most part people don't want to work. This isn't a vacation. This isn't some sight seeing tour. This is hard core. Real deal Holy Field. Nose to the grind stone. Death grip on the steering wheel. High speed chicken feed. Britches eating the seat. Wind blowing 60 mph. Trailer trying to get in front of the tractor, Get Out and Look Type stuff. This is action packed. Small dock big truck. Ton's of obstacles. Deadline's, Hours of service running down, Dispatcher's calling you to see if you can make it. Missed turns, Low Bridges, Fender Benders, Nail Biters, close calls, phone calls to the wifey saying "there's no load to get me home" Phone calls to the kids saying " I can't be there again" Its ups, Its downs and That's why I LOVE THIS STUFF. YEEEEE HAWWW

    Squeaky wheels get oil.

I love my company, and the job is pretty good too. Pays the best I've been paid in my life. Even pays to sleep some times.

That's not what the Oriental beauties told us sailors. They said we were the only ones for free. They said they love those deep pocket Air Force guys.
