I'm in a ungoverned truck. I'm gonna start doing this. Just fly up on someone then ride next to them for a while. Maybe I'll wave and blow kisses just to make it weird.

I get that all the time. Or you get to a passing lane and they don't make a move until you're almost at the end.

(possible long post warning for the ADHD crowd.)

You look in your mirror, you're running a constant speed. A car is gaining on you at a high rate of fuel consumption. But suddenly, he gets next to your trailer and seemingly matches speeds. For miles. You come up on an RV or a Prime truck and hit your left turn signal, slow down a bit and the car is now matching speeds with your tractor. There was plenty of room for him to get on by, but now, you have to jam on the brakes because Prime is going 20 mph under the speed limit. The car, gets past Prime, gets into the right lane and returns to doing 80 mph.

Did he block you in or purpose? Or was this just some unconscious 'part of the herd/crab mentality' act? You mentioned why do trucks do it. It comes from the same mentality. Why are they trying to hold you back? Wouldn't things flow better if we share the road? If ants have the crab mentality, they would never be able to get out of the ant hill and would go extinct rather quickly.

Have you ever had someone pull in front of you and you have to push them down the road? You try to pass and they speed up. You would figure that since they passed you, they would keep on going down the road and you would never see them again, right? So, why did you have to slow your pace when the faster car or truck passed you? Crab mentality.

Ever run your cruise control and jump out to pass a car or truck and they speed up, trying to block your pass? In fact, they match speeds with you? It's the same thing.

The son of a guy I trucked with 30 years ago told me yesterday that his old lady cheated on him with one of his friends. Why, out of alllllllll the women on planet earth would one target the lady of a friend? Crab mentality.
There was a driver that recently had his wife start driving for FedEx and he received negative comments. When a guy is happy about trucking with his lady and how well she's doing on her first week, why were there negative comments? Crab mentality. If a guy has his dream truck fixed up the way he wants it with a tall shifter and a billion chicken lights, why the hate? Crab mentality.

Why is there so much hate and strife and drama in the trucking industry? You guessed it. I only have one question: Where did you learn the crab mentality?

The same thing happens to me, too. Ditto for motorists.

Because they are in la la Land. They see you and suddenly think they are speeding. IDK, it's not limited to trucks either, 4-wheelers do it also.

I will be causing along in my 4-wheeler on a residential 4-lane doing 35mph. Someone will come flying up doing 50 in th left lane and just slow down and hang out right next to me, in my blind spot, in a 35mph speed zone....

I just chalk it up to stupid people that are doing something other than driving. They don't realize what they are doing untill they see you.

    Why slow down when passing?

My only thinking of why and how they do this is that many can not lead and if they get out in front they do not know what to do so they just get scared and sit there. They all have to run in a pack, doing monkey see monkey do.

I will not let a rendering plant truck pass me or ride behind them other than that I don’t get in pissing matches.

My truck is un governed but I don’t keep the pedal through the floor all day.
