get caught in Chicago by there cvsa crew and its a ticket as no airhorns allowed in city limits ( noise pollution and carries a $500 fine)
also certain DOt officers that are CVSA want to hear the electic and the airhorn (if its present ) but most DOT officers want to hear the electric horn .
also if you had a exaust leak in the cab , you should have deadlined the truck till it was fixed properly , as this issue was brought up in the past as some freightliners had a mechanical defect allowing this and was casuing some drivers to get ill ( there was a factory recall on the Item ) , the law says the exaust must be directed away from the cab . and if any of the connections are broken underhood or under the cab this is a automatic OOS , and they are easy to find as the carbon traces would show it . IMO time to find a new job ..scottied67 Thanks this. -
Well quit your whining then. You have grown up well it don't sound like it, you are afraid to quit the big bully outfit so you are going to do what they say and drive some pos that won't pass DOT just because you need a job, that is just stupid. DAC is old news a good attorney will set them and the company straight if they put lies on their. If you have done nothing wrong take their truck back and move on.scottied67 Thanks this.

I haven't looked this up, but I was always told the the electric horn is the one they want to hear, as the air horn is an option. Similar to upgrading the am/FM radioscottied67 Thanks this.

He wouldn't stand a chance because there is no 3rd party record,ie, DOT, of what happened. Any records at the company would cease to exist, his word against theirs. He should have stopped at a scale and pointed it out if he was so worried about it. Also, he would be black balled at every company, no one would touch hum.scottied67 Thanks this.

This is why am anonymous here. I, and others, have every intention of returning the grief and unnecessary hardship Knight Transportation has caused us TEN FOLD! This isn't about moving on to better places and forgetting this is more about saving what little remains of this profession. Want to make sure that people don't bother wasting their time there. They are active lurkers here (thankfully)
Schneider is another one that won't tolerate opposing viewpoints on their Facebook or their PD.com. It's all just as rosy as can be over there..from the outside looking in. Except of course here on the giant, mighty, and PROUD TruckersReport. People can come here to get the good bad and ugly about companies they might be interested in and make their own decisions unless of course it's regarding Knight...we're shutin those MF'ers down!scottied67 Thanks this. -

Errrrrnnnt, wrong. Do your homework. The Whistleblower Protection Act is specifically for protection against federal entities.
You are thinking of the OWPP (Office of Whistleblowers Protection Program) which is under OSHA's STAA. This is the one truck drivers file a complaint to. You have 180 days to do so.
About the same thing but different groups and programs. I was gonna post it earlier but I wanted to see who took the bait.
